Who I am not a good fit for

not-for-me

This blog is intended to help those people who I am not a good fit for rule themselves out from working with me.

That's right, I am writing a blog about who should not want to work with me. Do you think I am crazy?

It is all part of the process and the experience I am planning and outlining for my prospects. Is it not better to be honest and upfront and help people rule themselves out so they can find the right person to work with?

If you do take on the wrong type of client it will go wrong and nobody wins, I speak from experience.

So the wrong types of client for me as follows:

1) I need a website designed low cost. - I am not a web designer, I can build basic WordPress sites but that does not make me a web developer. What I do is I consult with clients on what makes a good website and ensure the correct user journeys are in place and that the site is clean and clear and creates an amazing experience for the visitors.

So I do work with other web developers, good ones. But if a cheap 5 page site is what you after there are loads around but that is not me.

2) Can you do my social media for me? - Again no, It would not be a good use of your money nor my time for me to schedule some social media posts for you. What I can do is help you determine a social media strategy as part of an overall digital marketing strategy. If you are looking for an outsourced model where someone does your social media for you there are some great companies around and I would start buy checking out the following 2 companies: Kent Social Media and ZC Social. Both are experts in their field and will be able to assist you.

3) I need someone just a few hours a week - I am not looking for any work that needs someone to do a bit of marketing. I am a strategist and will help you write your marketing plan and how to measure it and event find the technology that you can use to fit your budget. I am happy to help you recruit the right person too but not actually do the work. Again I would suggest reaching out to the companies above or similar.

4) Can you write my blog posts for me? - I love blogging, but I love blogging about what I know about and I am passionate about. I would not do the best blogging for you as I don't really know what your company is all about. However I could run a content marketing workshop on explain the benefits of blogging and what works to enable you to blog yourself authentically. Alternatively there  third party services that will blog for a fee.

So these are a few of the things that I am not really looking for and will give you a clue as to the type of company I am not looking to work with.

I am however planning an on-line course that will cover all of the above that may be suited to those who are budget concious. Sign up to my mailing list to make sure you don't miss announcements on this.
